Abrazo Community Health Network’s Abrazo Arrowhead Campus and Abrazo Central Campus have been named as America’s Best Hospitals for Patient Safety in 2016 by the Women’s Choice Award.

The designation was announced, Tuesday, during Patient Safety Awareness Week. Abrazo Arrowhead Campus and Abrazo Central Campus qualified based on having a low incidence of problems arising from surgical errors and infections.

The selection process identifies and ranks hospitals that report their surgical complication and infection frequency to The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Those that have the best overall performance across the 11 measures, and have above average female patient recommendations, earned the award.

“We are pleased to receive recognition of our efforts to provide high-quality, safe care to our patients,” said William Ellert, Market Chief Medical Officer for Abrazo Community Health Network. “It is our privilege to serve women and their families in the safest way possible.”
