Arizona-based AvAir continues to rise to the top, with the aftermarket aircraft parts provider snagging the number-two spot in The Aviation 100’s “Parts Supplier of the Year” rankings.

Then annual publication honors the best of the best in today’s aerospace industry, honoring the top 10 performers across 10 different categories, and AvAir continues to surge within the rankings, climbing six spots from its previous, number-eight honor.

“We’re humbled to be in such great company, and to gain recognition from one of the industry’s most trusted publications,” said AvAir President Mike Bianco. “This is a field that continues to grow and develop, with consumer demands changing every day, and our six-spot jump is a testament to our ability to not only adapt, but embrace those changes and provide a product and level of service that is second to none.”

In determining this year’s rankings, Aviation 100 assessed companies in terms of their inventory and number of clients, locations and employees. Additionally, a parts provider’s ability to source and supply parts within a tight timeline was also taken into account, as were results from the publication’s industry survey.

Initially founded as a parts brokerage in 2000, AvAir opened a new flagship headquarters in Chandler, Arizona in 2015, offering up more than 170,000 square feet of inventory storage space. With offices globally in addition to the Chandler facility and more than five million parts in stock at any given time, AvAir continues to carve out a name for itself as a global aviation industry leader while maintaining the easy accessibility of a much smaller company.

“We’re one of the smallest businesses on the list, but it just goes to show that size is secondary to a great product and personal, attentive customer service,” Bianco said. “Next year, we’re gunning for that number-one spot.”
