After weeks of fierce competition, Clean Router won the 2017 Venture Madness startup competition on the final day of fast pitches at the Hotel Valley Ho on Friday.

Clean Router took home a $10,000 prize as the Venture Madness champions.

Clean Router allows parents to manage devices within their home to stop children from accessing internet pornography. The router can be hooked up to the home’s modem and can manage any device ranging from a cell phone to a gaming console.

Starting in January, 64 startups have been competing to receive $20,000 and an opportunity to potentially receive up to $300,000 investment dollars. A live-bracket style event started this week with the final 16 startups.

Anicell Biotech LLC, Clean Router, Tellspec USA and ZCast competed as the final four startups this Friday. After the first round of pitches between the final four, Anicell and Clean Router were announced as the final two startups.

AniCell ended up winning $5,000. During the competition, there was a People’s Choice award that was selected by voters. InfluenceLogic received the People’s Choice award, taking home $5,000.

InfluenceLogic, Clean Router, AniCell, ClicData and eSalesDash are all being considered for a share of the $300,000 investment money pool.

Here’s a breakdown of the other three top startups to come out on top at Venture Madness, including InfluenceLogic:

  • Anicell utilizes regenerative treatments to help horses with same-day injuries. The regenerative treatments are derived from amniotic stem cells collected during the birth of a horse, which is made into a treatment for a physically injured horse.
  • InfluenceLogic is a marketing platform that lets users identify video influencers on the web so you can get your product in their videos, receive endorsement from video influencers and boost your brand recognition.
  • Tellspec has developed a device and mobile app that allows users to scan food at the molecular level, helping folks identify calories, nutrients and any contaminants. Tellspec can help folks identify food adulteration or quality too.
  • ZCast is a platform that enables its users to create audio broadcasts, with an emphasis on making it an easy process. The audio broadcasts can be live, or saved for later, as ZCast hosts a platform where listeners can comment and even chat via audio with the broadcaster.

Invest Southwest, in partnership with the Arizona Commerce Authority, hosts Venture Madness each year. During the competition many leaders spoke at the event, such as Reddit CEO Steve Huffman, Investor Justin Kan, Zenefits CEO Jay Fulcher, Cruise Automation COO Daniel Kan and Next Level Associates Partner Bernee Strom.
