Bridget Costello, former director of development at Children’s Museum of Phoenix, has been named managing director for Valley Youth Theatre (VYT) by its board of directors.

“I am very excited to join Valley Youth Theatre,” said Costello. “It’s an incredible organization that has been a cornerstone in local children’s theater for 25 years. I look forward to working with the staff and community of VYT to help inspire young people to achieve their highest potential.”

Bridget CostelloIn her new role as managing director at VYT, Costello will collaborate with Producing Artistic Director Bobb Cooper who has managed and grown the theater company since he started in 1996.

“After 18 years of juggling creative, production and administrative responsibilities, I am very thankful to have Bridget on board,” said Cooper.

Upon earning her BFA in Theatre Education and a minor in English from ASU, Costello started teaching English and assisting with theatrical performances at Rhodes Junior High School in Mesa.

While coordinating special events like the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Phoenix, she also began fundraising for The American Ireland Fund and raised an average of $1M a year for St. Mary’s High School.

As president and CEO of Emerald Consulting LLC, she consulted with nonprofits, schools and associations on service such as strategic plans, motivational speaking, retreat planning and board development.
