REDW LLC, one of the Southwest’s 10 largest and most respected certified public accounting and business consulting firms and nationally recognized for its service to Tribes, announced it will host The 2015 Tribal Finance and Leadership Conference at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona on November 12th and 13th. The annual event, now in its 6th consecutive year, is organized by REDW and is exclusively designed for tribal leaders.

The keynote speaker at the conference will be Notah Begay III. A four-time PGA TOUR winner, Begay is the most accomplished Native American in the history of the PGA TOUR. Off the golf course, Begay’s commitment to working with tribal communities is undeniable. In 2002, Begay started NB3 Consulting, a full-service golf course development firm that has built some of the most highly recognized golf courses on Native lands. In 2005, Begay launched The NB3 Foundation, a federally recognized non-profit designed to battle obesity and Type 2 diabetes in Native American youth. Additionally, Begay is the founder of KivaSun Foods, a Native owned, all-natural food company with the mission of showcasing Native American sourced food products to a global audience.

The conference also features many high-level guest speakers. Among them is Dr. Veronica Tiller, a prominent historian, author, speaker and the contemporary authority on the modern-day economic life of Native American Tribes. Known as “Indian Country’s Ambassador,” Dr. Tiller recently published the Third Edition of Tiller’s Guide to Indian Country, which is hailed as the primary economic development resource for professionals working with Native Americans. Dr. Tiller will hold a special book signing following her presentation at the REDW Tribal Conference.

“Organizing this conference is part of our long-standing commitment to partnering with the tribal community. Each year, we bring together leaders and financial industry experts from tribes across the nation to discuss the unique challenges they face,” said Chris Tyhurst, REDW Principal and Chair of the REDW Tribal Conference. “REDW is proud to lead a conference that is viewed as one of the best tribal events available outside those offered by tribal associations, according to the feedback we receive from tribal participates each year. Given the speaker line up and the quality and diversity of topics, we are sure to delight our loyal tribal audience once again.”

More than 100 council members, finance and HR leaders, compliance and investment officers, attorneys and other professionals in tribal leadership roles are expected to attend this year’s conference, which will be held at the Talking Stick Resort, a tribally-owned Four Diamond casino hotel in Scottsdale.

Open to both REDW tribal clients and non-clients, the conference provides a unique opportunity for attendees to meet with diverse tribal experts and receive answers to complex accounting, financial, legal and management questions.
