Great Hearts Academies plans to open a new campus in Phoenix that it will build at the northwest corner of 32nd Street and Hearn Road.

The campus will serve as a new home to two of the network’s growing academies, Archway North Phoenix and North Phoenix Prep, which opened in 2011 and currently reside in a space leased at a local church. The new campus will open in the 2017-2018 school year.

The new campus will accommodate students in grades K-12 on co-located campuses in the same property. It will include upgraded classrooms, science labs, student libraries, art studios, music and drama rooms and a full-size gymnasium, in addition to other amenities.

Great Hearts provides is a charter school providing a liberal arts curriculum incorporating advanced math and science, a focus on the arts and foreign language, and a range of extra-curricular activities and athletics.

“We are truly excited to be growing in North Phoenix and to be able to serve more students in the community at our new campus,” said Christine Jones, Interim CEO of Great Hearts. “Building a new facility gives us an amazing opportunity to design a campus that meets the precise needs of our students and our educational model, while also positioning us effectively for the future.”
