Banner Estrella Medical Center has been named one of the best hospitals in the nation by Premier healthcare alliance’s QUEST: High Performing Hospitals® collaborative. QUEST is a voluntary hospital collaborative run by Premier, America’s largest national healthcare performance improvement alliance. Banner Estrella is a member of this alliance and shares ideas, strategies and proven practices with other participating hospitals across the country to reduce variation in care.

According to QUEST, Banner Estrella is a top performing hospital for providing safe, reliable and efficient care and represents top performance in five domains including:
·         Inpatient evidence-based care
·         Reducing mortality
·         Reducing the average cost of care
·         Reducing preventable harm events; and
·         Improving the patient experience

“Banner Estrella Medical Center’s participation in this collaborative reinforces our commitment to reliably deliver excellent patient care to the communities we serve,” said Deb Krmpotic, CEO. “We’re proud to have achieved top performance in QUEST as we continue down our path of continually improving patient outcomes.”

Banner Estrella is the only hospital in Arizona to receive this recognition and one of only 18 out of 336 hospitals nationwide to achieve top performance in at least five domains.
Susan DeVore, Premier president and CEO said, “Meeting the imperatives of better care at a lower cost isn’t easy for health systems to achieve on their own. It’s this type of collaboration and innovation that’s needed system-wide to build a sustainable future for healthcare and most importantly communities nationwide. Premier congratulates Banner Estrella Medical Center for their outstanding performance.”
