Laura Carpenter, founder of Carpenter Law Firm and Bula Law, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the American Society of Pharmacy Law (ASPL). ASPL is a national nonprofit organization that serves as a source of current information for attorneys and pharmacists interested in the law as it applies to pharmacy, pharmacists, wholesalers, manufacturers, state and federal government and other interested parties.
Both an attorney and a pharmacist, Carpenter has been an active member of the American Society Of Pharmacy Law for many years including prior service on the Board, past Chair of the Sponsorship Committee, and a member of the Communications Committee. “I am honored to be able to serve ASPL’s members and will strive to make it easier for members and people in the industry to obtain needed information about the much-regulated pharmacy industry.” said Carpenter.
As a practicing attorney, Carpenter advises pharmacies, healthcare providers and other health related entities on pharmacy and drug distribution matters, compliance with federal and state healthcare law, contract negotiations, risk management, healthcare business planning, electronic health information privacy regulation, third-party plans, and corporate best practices.
Carpenter founded her own firm in 2007 to meet the growing demand within the increasingly complex healthcare industry for a firm that offers personalized legal services with greater efficiency and cost effectiveness. Ms. Carpenter’s firm was recently recognized as a 2012 Impact Award Finalist for exemplifying the spirit of entrepreneurialism, creating value, and initiating innovative solutions to meet industry needs.
