Kathleen H. Goeppinger, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer, Midwestern University, announced new faculty members for the University as a result of Midwestern’s continuing growth.

Thomas K. Graves, D.V.M., Ph.D., DACVIM, was named Associate Dean for Clinical Education, College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), and Mitchell Emerson, Ph.D., has assumed the role of Interim Dean, College of Pharmacy-Glendale (CPG).

Prior to joining Midwestern University, Dr. Graves was Director of the Chicago Center for Veterinary Medicine and a Professor of Veterinary Clinical Medicine for the University of Illinois. He has earned multiple awards as an educator, including the Carl J. Norden-Pfizer Distinguished Teacher Award and the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association Outstanding Teacher Award. Dr. Graves earned his D.V.M. from Cornell University and his Ph.D. from the University of Rochester, School of Medicine and Dentistry.

A 10-year Midwestern University veteran, Dr. Emerson served as the Associate Dean for the College of Pharmacy-Glendale for the past five years. He has experience as the Acting Chair of the Pharmacy Practice Department and has served many years as a tenured faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences as well as performed extensive work with the accreditation and curriculum standards for the College. Dr. Emerson succeeds CPG Dean Dennis J. McCallian, Pharm.D., who retired after 12 years with Midwestern.
