Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation’s tenth annual Golf4Smiles Tournament held May 8 at Grayhawk Golf Club, broke the previous fundraising record, raising a total of $120,042.

The event is held by the Foundation to raise money to fight tooth decay in children, including providing for dental screenings, sealants, fluoride varnish applications, dental supply distribution and oral health instruction across the state. These programs have the potential to nearly eliminate tooth decay in school-age children. Tooth decay is five times more prevalent than asthma—and experts estimate that more than 50% of children will have some tooth decay by age 5.

In addition to a variety of enticing raffle prizes including vacation getaways and signed athletic gear, Diamondbacks tickets were given away. The Phoenix Suns Dancers kicked off the tournament and stayed to rally the golfers.
