Law firm to host seminar on new minimum wage compliance

Jennings, Strouss & Salmon PLC is hosting a seminar that will go over the new minimum wage and paid sick time regulations that will be enacted through Prop. 206 next year.

The seminar will be held on Jan. 18 with a presentation by Attorneys Chris M. Mason and Otto S. Shill, III.

Check in for the event begins at 7:30 a.m. and the presentation will start at 8 a.m. and run to 9 a.m.

The event will be held at One E. Washington St. On the 4th Floor in Downtown Phoenix at CityScape.

Registration for the event will be held until Jan. 13.

Arizona voters passed the minimum wage and paid sick time regulations this past November in a ballot initiative, Prop. 206.

The law will boost the minimum wage from its current $8.05 an hour to $10 an hour in January, and raise the minimum wage incrementally to $12 in 2020.

Employees now can take up to five paid sick days a year as well, under the initiative.

Questions for the event should be directed towards Whitney Matthis by email or by phone at 602-495-2711.
