Ballard Spahr will celebrate its 10th anniversary in Phoenix through a “Year of Service” by giving back to the community.

The first event will be on Monday, Jan. 18, at the Lana Turner Civitan House where lawyers and staff will spend the morning socializing with its residents and lending a hand with maintenance of the property.

“Ballard Spahr has a long-standing tradition of all 14 offices participating in a Day of Service on Martin Luther King, Jr., Day, helping people at food banks, homeless shelters, youth centers, or many other types of nonprofit organizations,” said John G. Kerkorian, Managing Partner of the Phoenix office. “Community service is just one way we can show our appreciation for the growth and success our Phoenix office has enjoyed over the past 10 years.”

The Phoenix office opened in September 2006, and was the 12th office in the firm’s western expansion which began with the opening of the Salt Lake City office in 1987.

Ballard Spahr now has offices in six western cities, including Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and San Diego that provide clients a local presence with access to a national network of more than 500 attorneys.

Ballard Spahr’s Phoenix office is home to more than 30 attorneys representing all departments of the firm: litigation, real estate, business and finance, public finance, and intellectual property.

In the past two years the office added renowned media law, white collar defense, labor and employment, and nonprofit tax attorneys, and enhanced its government relations, regulatory affairs and contracting group with prominent former Arizona state government officials.

Attorneys in the office serve the community through professional and volunteer activities and as board members on many nonprofit, civic, and other organizations.
