Joshua Grabel

A complex business litigation team has joined the litigation practice group at Lewis Roca Rothgerber LLP, one of the largest law firms in the western United States. The team, led by Dan W. Goldfine and Joshua Grabel, has extensive experience in complex business disputes, including class actions, RICO and antitrust across multiple industries ranging from insurance to construction to financial services.

The other team members include Jamie Halavais, Ian Fischer and Cindy Schmidt. Goldfine, Grabel, Fischer and Halavais are based in Phoenix, and Schmidt in Tucson, and join Lewis Roca Rothgerber from Snell & Wilmer.

The Arizona-based team, which is currently involved in litigation in more than 22 states, offers the ability to provide in-house counsel with a holistic, cohesive national strategy to advance the client’s goals with an aggressive, consistent, efficient and cost-effective approach, explained Goldfine.

Goldfine focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation and white-collar criminal defense. He has defended national and international clients against antitrust, RICO, False Claims Act, and consumer fraud class actions in Federal and state courts across the U.S. He has defended companies in the healthcare, pharmaceutical and insurance industries, along with manufacturers and consumer marketers. Goldfine is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and the University of Minnesota Law School, and is licensed to practice in Arizona and Minnesota.

Jamie Halavais

Grabel focuses his practice on class action defense, antitrust, RICO, insurance defense, state and local public procurement law, construction litigation and other complex commercial matters. He represents clients in federal and state courts, before local, state and federal agencies, and at private mediations and arbitrations. He has served as lead counsel for numerous multi-million dollar cases before state and federal courts, and on public bid protests before local, state and federal agencies. He also becomes one of more than 70 attorneys in the firm with experience in the real estate industry. Grabel is a graduate of the University of Arizona and Georgetown University Law Center, and is licensed to practice in Arizona and New Mexico.

Halavais’ practice focuses on commercial litigation, class action defense and other complex commercial matters and she regularly represents publicly traded and private companies, boards of directors, CEOs and other individuals in various state and federal courts in Arizona and beyond, as well as before the SEC, DOJ, and FINRA. She is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine, received her J.D. from SUNY at Buffalo, magna cum laude, and is licensed to practice in Arizona, California and New York.

Dan W. Goldfine

Fischer’s practice focuses on complex litigation, class action defense, insurance coverage and bad faith, and white collar defense and investigations. He is a graduate of Beloit College in Wisconsin and received his J.D. from the Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, summa cum laude.

Schmidt’s practice focuses on commercial litigation, drawing on her prior real estate and transactional experience. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois, and received her J.D. from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, magna cum laude.
