One of the nation’s top financial experts is hosting a new Arizona PBS original series that empowers viewers to take control of their retirement planning.

Joshua Mellberg, president and founder of J.D. Mellberg Financial, is hosting “Mastering Your Money,” premiering Sept. 13 at 11:30 a.m. on Arizona PBS. Mellberg is an award-winning financial strategist, who has appeared on CNBC, Yahoo Finance and PBS.

The series takes viewers through the retirement planning process and empowers them to make well-informed decisions concerning their financial futures. Mellberg will be joined by renowned guests from a wide range of specialties to discuss a variety of topics, including retirement strategies, tips for maximizing social security benefits, analyses of the effects of U.S. debt, reverse mortgages and much more.

This series follows upon Mellberg’s highly regarded Arizona PBS special, “Maximize Your Retirement Income, Including Secrets to Social Security,” which aired earlier this year and is now in national distribution. Arizona PBS and Mellberg team up again for 13 episodes of strategic advice to help viewers become more knowledgeable about modern financial policies and how to maximize their retirement income in the current financial climate.

“Joshua Mellberg is an expert when it comes to retirement income planning, and his pledge special on the topic resulted in one of our highest-rated programs this pledge drive season, as well as for several public television stations across the country,” said Kelly McCullough, general manager at Arizona PBS. “We’re looking forward to the launch of his ‘Mastering Your Money’ TV series, which will feature exciting guests including Dr. Laurence Kotlikoff, a PBS NewsHour favorite among viewers.”

Mellberg specializes in retirement planning, senior wealth management, tax planning strategies, estate planning for seniors, training for financial advisors and insurance agents, and is a frequent speaker on financial subjects. He was named “Agent of the Year” in 2005, 2006 and 2007 by Forward Strategies Insurance Brokerage out of a selection of more than 5,000 financial advisors. This fall, Mellberg offers his many years of experience and expertise to provide viewers with a well-rounded view of factors directly impacting today’s financial market to help viewers make educated decisions when planning for the future.

“I’m passionate about helping people feel informed and empowered about their futures, financially, and helping them shift from thinking about net worth to thinking about how to get optimized income – net of fees, taxes and inflation,” said Mellberg. “That’s what it’s all about.”
