The Ak-Chin Indian Community recently completed a multi-million dollar investment in Phoenix-based Quail Run Building Materials, allowing the two to move forward with plans to construct a manufacturing facility in the Santa Cruz Commerce Center, which is located on the Community’s reservation, near Maricopa.

“The Ak-Chin Indian Community is excited to finally bring this opportunity to our community and neighbors in Maricopa and the surrounding areas,” said Ak-Chin Tribal Chairman Louis J. Manuel, Jr. “The initial conversations regarding this venture began more than 10 years ago and have evolved throughout the years to its completion last month.”

The Commerce Center will provide many employment opportunities for people from both the tribe and surrounding areas. Both parties are optimistic about the growth potential of the company and its role in Arizona manufacturing.

“We believe that the partnership with the Ak-Chin Indian Community will prove to have many long-lasting and positive impacts on the community,” said Robert Clark, CEO of Quail Run Building Materials. “The partnership reinforces our commitment to being the premier steel framing building products manufacturer in the Southwest.”

The Ak-Chin Indian Community is continuously working on other economic enterprises including the completion of the UltraStar Multi-Tainment Center and the Ak-Chin Water Treatment Plant and the current construction of Justice Center Complex scheduled for completion in July 2014.
