Forrest Anderson Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. (Forrest Anderson), a family-owned business in the Phoenix area since 1961, wants to honor the men and women in our community who have served by donating and installing a new air conditioning unit for a local veteran.

Active duty military, including members the National Guard, Reserves, as well as military families, are also encouraged to apply.

Living without air conditioning in Arizona is not only uncomfortable, but also dangerous during certain times of the year. Many of our neighbors have risked their lives fighting for our freedom, and Forrest Anderson believes they deserve to come home to a cool, comfortable environment at the end of the day.

Forrest Anderson is asking residents of the community to nominate a deserving veteran who needs this donation. The deadline is Friday, October 14 at midnight. To apply, visit ForrestAnderson.net. The person nominating will need to explain in 200 words or less why this person and/or their family deserves to win.

“If we can make life a little easier for a local military hero and their family by replacing their old air conditioner, or installing a brand new one free of charge, that makes us incredibly happy,” said Audrey Monell, president of Forrest Anderson. “We are so excited about this giveaway, and we’re looking forward to learning about the nominees through these essays as well.”

The finalists will be announced later this month, and the public will then be encouraged to vote for the winner through the Forrest Anderson Facebook Page. The winner will be announced the week before Veterans Day.

The generous donation is made possible in part by Sigler Wholesale Distributors, which is providing a Carrier 14 Seer Heating and Cooling system, Empire Metal Products, which has graciously donated the sheet metal, and Smiley Crane Service.
