In the first half of 2016, State Farm plans to hire 1,000 employees in the greater Phoenix area, and will hold a job fair on Tuesday, Jan. 12 in Mesa.
The insurance firm plans to add more employees as it expands in the Phoenix area throughout the year.
State Farm announced earlier in January it would increase starting pay for some entry-level careers by $2.59 an hour to $15.50.
“We’re seeking applicants for full and part-time positions in customer service, claims and sales, but we’ll also be recruiting for IT and other departments, some positions requiring bilingual skills.” said Victor Hugo Rodriguez, State Farm spokesman.

The job fair will be held at Sheraton Mesa Hotel at Wringleyville West, 860 N. Riverview, Mesa, AZ 85295.
When: January 12, 2016, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Marina Heights, the new State Farm facility will provide claims, service and sales support to State Farm customers. Once completed, State Farm will have capacity for up to 8,000 employees in the greater Phoenix area. The new facility is adjacent to ASU Sun Devil Stadium and the ASU Athletic Facilities District.
