A technology-based recruiting firm, ZipRecruiter, is opening a new sales and customer service office at Hayden Ferry Lakeside in Tempe, and plans to hire 238 employees over the next five years, according to a statement Gov. Doug Ducey tweeted Monday morning.

This is the firm’s first expansion outside of its home offices in Santa Monica as the firm settles into a 15,000 square-foot-space.

ZipRecruiter uses a hiring platform to help medium-sized businesses recruit talent. The firm was founded in 2010, and has doubled in size since 2014.

“Arizona’s deep talent pool and active lifestyle make it an ideal location for ZipRecruiter’s brand, culture and growing team,” said Ian Siegel, CEO and co-founder of ZipRecruiter.

There are already many technology companies based in Tempe, and ZipRecruiter hopes to add to the innovative community.

“ZipRecruiter’s selection of Arizona echoes a larger trend of technology-driven companies – from innovative startups to industry icons – choosing Arizona due to our state’s pro-business environment, highly skilled and available talent, and unmatched quality of life,” Ducey said.
