Adopt Technologies, a turnkey cloud-based IT solutions provider for small and medium-sized businesses, elected Rob Lloyd, chief information officer for the City of San Jose, Calif. to the company’s board of advisors.

Lloyd served as the chief information officer for the City of Avondale, Ariz. where he headed technology projects and operations across the organization, covering police, fire, utilities, economic development, family services and more.

During his time with the city, Avondale was named one of the top 10 digital cities of America for five consecutive years by the Center for Digital Government. Over the past two decades, he directed eGovernment, budget and IT planning for the City of Colorado Springs, Colo. Lloyd also served as the chief of technologies for Colorado Parks and Wildlife and completed a turnaround as the CIO and telecommunications utility director at the City of Ashland, Ore.

Under Lloyd’s leadership, many of the municipalities he has served have earned awards and recognition for innovation, engagement, and operational excellence through technology. He also currently serves as the president of AZCIO, the municipal IT leadership association for Arizona.

Lloyd’s IT acumen allows Adopt to undertake on systems and infrastructure related to architecture, planning and budgeting, cybersecurity, vendor management, customer service initiatives and systems support and management efficiencies.
