Tom Sadvary, HonorHealth CEO, is the recipient of the 2016 Drinkwater Community Leadership Award.

The award recognizes and honors exceptional community leaders who personify the spirit of Herbert R. Drinkwater, mayor of Scottsdale for over 25 years. Sadvary received the award at a luncheon on Friday, Dec. 2, at The Phoenician.

Sadvary began his career in Scottsdale in 1986 as administrator of what is known today as HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center. He served in progressive executive roles prior to being named Scottsdale Healthcare CEO in 2005. Sadvary maintained that role when he led the development of a $1.5 billion nonprofit organization with the merger of Scottsdale Healthcare and John C. Lincoln Health Network in 2014.

“I’ve been in Scottsdale for 30 years, and I’m honored to receive this award from my peers,” said Sadvary. “This has never been a job for me – seeing how the population has grown and prospered – it’s been a wonderful experience to be part of. I look forward to expanding my role in the community in the years to come.”

Sadvary’s numerous leadership roles have included the Arizona Hospital & Healthcare Association, Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce, Scottsdale/Paradise Valley YMCA, Scottsdale McDowell Road Task Force, Scottsdale Rotary Club and Phoenix Chamber of Commerce. He continues his involvement with the community locally and nationally through the Greater Phoenix Leadership Council, Health System Alliance of Arizona, Scottsdale Institute and Health Insights and the American Hospital Association. In addition, Sadvary is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
