Buckhorn Plaza, located on the northeast corner of Recker Road & Main Street in the east Mesa trade area, has gone through a very difficult time in the recent economic downturn.
Today the center is 95% percent leased with anchors Goodwill, Walgreens and JoAnn’s driving traffic. One of the area’s busiest beauty salons, Scharline’s Beauty Spot, Inc., relocated to the Buckhorn Plaza after 25 years of doing business in the immediate trade area. Local businesses, Loreto’s Mexican Food will open its second restaurant in the city and Arizona Chihuahua Rescue its first “bricks and mortar” store. In addition to attracting local businesses, De Rito Partners, Inc. has brought in Fred Loya Insurance, a national tenant that will also open soon. The popular East Valley Café up the street has also brought new energy to this area of Mesa.
The owner of the shopping center, Aric Browne with Ethan Christopher Arizona LLC is crediting brokers John Trujillo and Trevor Clinch for the current re-leasing success at the center. “John and Trevor have gone back to basics, literally pounding the streets to help create one of the most successful centers in only a few short months. They are bringing in local tenants and attracting nationals,” said Aric.

Anytime Fitness opening new Scottsdale facility
Anytime Fitness is opening a new fitness center in the Shops at Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona. The center is located just east of the northeast corner of Doubletree Ranch Road and Gainey Center Drive.
Gen2 Properties purchases Scottsdale building
Gen2 Properties, LLC purchased the property at 8101 E. McDowell Road in Scottsdale, Arizona. Michael McWilliams of De Rito Partners represented the buyer in purchasing the building, which is located just east of the southeast corner of Hayden Road and McDowell Road.
