The grocery industry is undergoing dramatic shifts driven by changing consumer needs and expectations, technology advancements and a fierce competitive environment.  Significant changes are expected to meet evolving consumer demands and impact the commercial real estate industry. Progressive grocers will continue to transform business models and implement new ways to attract and retain shoppers as they transition to compete with internet shoppers and non-mainstream food outlets.

A new grocery store in downtown Phoenix is under construction now.  Communities around the Valley are examining how grocery stores, in a very competitive grocery market, will continue to develop to support neighborhoods.
