Angela Watson AIA, a principal and design leader at Shepley Bulfinch, is relocating to the firm’s Phoenix office, where she will work to further broaden the firm’s presence in the Southwest.

With a depth of experience in healthcare and higher education design, she sees major opportunities for growth in these sectors.

“This is an exciting time to be a national design firm in Arizona, as healthcare systems and higher education explore new approaches to healthcare delivery, teaching, and research,” Angela said.

Her work will include leading the design and delivery of Banner Health’s ambitious clinical tower project in Tucson, which is now in design. Her portfolio includes major projects for UAMC Medical Center (now Banner Health – University Medical Center Tucson), Yale-New Haven Health System, the University of Houston, Ringling College of Art and Design, and Hamline University.

Angela received her Master’s degree in Architecture from MIT. She has been a lecturer and visiting critic at ASU and the Center for Health Systems Design Texas A&M, and served on the ASU College of Design’s Healthcare Initiative Advisory Board. She has served on numerous design juries and publishes and presents widely. She is a registered architect in 18 states, including Arizona, New Mexico, California, Texas, and Massachusetts.
