Accelerated Development Services, a division of Velocity Retail Group, has hired Trey Eakin as Senior Vice President of Development Services effective immediately. A 30 year veteran in the retail development arena, Trey’s experience includes acquisitions, oversight, strategic analysis, project management, and lease up of retail and mixed-use projects totaling over $1 billion in value. Accelerated Development Services focuses on build-to-suit and redevelopment opportunities for their retail clients throughout the southwest.

“We are excited to have Trey join our team. His background and experience enhance the services we provide to our development services clients,” said Dave Cheatham, president of Velocity Retail Group. “Since the devolving of the traditional development market, our clients demand solutions where none currently exist. His existing relationships also blend well with our tenant-focused platform,” he added.

“I have worked with the Velocity Retail Group leadership for almost three decades and have always admired them as an innovative and forward thinking market-leading organization. I am very excited to be a part of this group. The company’s strong retailer-focused platform with tremendous resources will give us an incredible opportunity to impact the landscape of retail real estate during this next market cycle,” said Eakin.

Specializing in the analysis and feasibility of sites Trey has the ability to source projects focused on the needs of Accelerated’s clients. He has the experience to work through the entitlement process with various municipalities as well as with prospective national, regional and local retailers.

During his career he has held management positions and was responsible for acquisitions, oversight and strategic analysis with several leading development companies including long tenures with Barclay Group and Vestar Development. He has provided hands-on supervision in dozens of projects ranging from build-to-suits to grocery-anchored centers to larger regional

power centers. Some of his key clients in these developments included Walgreens, Fry’s Food and Drug and Target. Trey holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on finance and a minor in economics from the University of Oklahoma.
