The Weitz Company announced Tuesday that Don Freeman has joined the firm to lead its efforts in the Arizona and Southwest regional healthcare market.

Don brings a significant level of highly specialized experience to our team,” said Mike Bontrager, executive vice president of the Weitz Phoenix office. “His record of innovation and exceptional client service aligns perfectly with our approach.” Don’s appointment as senior project manager is an indication of Weitz’ continued commitment to the healthcare industry. “Nationally, Weitz has a very strong presence in this market,” said Bontrager. “Don will play a key role in developing our portfolio of local and regional accounts, providing and implementing high-quality solutions for our clients.”

Prior to Weitz, Don worked for Guthrie General, where he managed the firm’s largest design-build project, Cancer Treatment Centers of America. Earlier in his career he worked for JE Dunn, DPR and Intel Corporation, where he was responsible for new business development, operations and logistics.

With 25 years of both domestic and international construction experience, Don’s background includes a body of work of large-scale institutional projects, medical office buildings, lab and clean room work and specialist medical/research/physician facilities. Don earned an MBA in 2000 from University of Phoenix and his BS in Electronic Engineering & Technology from DeVry Institute of Technology. During his tenure at Intel, he co-authored “Best Case Thinking,” a process designed to eliminate idle time on tools during construction, reduce installation time and realize revenue earlier.
