Tempe-based Johnson Carlier, Inc. has hired three construction superintendents and a marketing coordinator to accommodate business growth as the economy improves.

The new hires are a continuation of the company’s expansion activities that began last year with the addition of five new team members. “We are encouraged by what we see and hear from our development clients,” said Chris Johnson, Johnson Carlier CEO. “As their businesses grow, so does ours. Our desire is to continue building our team with seasoned professionals who will help lead us into the next cycle of economic prosperity.”

Charles Hawk II comes to Johnson Carlier with more than 30 years of construction management experience spanning four states. He joins the company from Exxel Pacific in Seattle, where he held the position of senior superintendent. He also has served in supervisory roles for construction companies in Arizona, Illinois and Georgia. Hawk holds a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Arizona State University, as well as numerous licenses and professional certificates. He is a charter member of the American Society of Safety Engineers.

Angel M. Valledor brings 26 years of construction management experience to the Johnson Carlier team, and has overseen a number of high-profile transportation, hotel/casino, high-rise residential and retail projects throughout his career. Prior to joining Johnson Carlier, he was a superintendent with The Weitz Company in Phoenix, where he managed several sections of guide way construction for the Sky Train project at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Valledor earned a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering technology from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, N.J.

Shane Boswell is a 10-year veteran of the construction industry who has supervised and built numerous commercial and luxury residential projects throughout metro Phoenix. Most recently, he was a superintendent for Smith Construction Management LLC (formerly Swisher Construction Company Inc.) in Glendale, where he oversaw scheduling, subcontractor coordination, quality control and assurance, and project safety, among other job duties.

Nicole Roy is Johnson Carlier’s new marketing coordinator. She joins the company from Kiewit Infrastructure West Co. in Phoenix, where she held a similar position. She also spent two years with a local creative agency after graduating from ASU with a bachelor’s degree in global business and management.
