The Sundt Companies promoted Kevin Burnett to senior vice president and chief financial officer. He will oversee the accounting, finance, treasury and risk management areas while serving as chairman of the finance committee for the employee-owned general contractor.

A Sundt employee since 1998, Burnett has served as vice president, controller and then as senior vice president of acquisitions and investments. In his new position, he is working alongside longtime colleague and CFO Ray Bargull until Bargull retires this September.

“While we are saddened to see Ray go after many wonderful years, we are thrilled to have Kevin stepping in,” said Dave Crawford, president and CEO of Sundt. “Kevin was hand-selected to fulfill the CFO position as he not only has extensive financial experience but has also been a key member of our team for a long time now. He really is an asset to Sundt and he will undoubtedly excel in his new leadership role.”

Burnett’s nearly three decades in the financial services industry includes previous roles as the vice president corporate controller for Evans Withycombe Residential, Inc. and a senior audit manager with Ernst & Young LLP.

Burnett holds a Master of Business Administration in accounting from the University of Arizona as well as a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Rochester. He is a certified public accountant in the state of Arizona as well as a certified construction industry finance professional and construction risk and insurance specialist.

Burnett also serves as president of the Valley of the Sun Construction Finance Managers Association (CFMA), vice chairman of the YMCA of Southern Arizona and a member of the board of Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities (TREO).
