GetFileAttachment-2Sundt Construction, Inc. recently appointed Tom Case chief operating officer of the general contractor’s Civil Group. Case joined Sundt earlier this year as senior vice president of that group and was promoted to his new position when longtime Sundt executive Mike Hoover advanced to the role of company president this month.

Case, a well-respected member of the industry and immediate past chairman of the Highway & Transportation Division for the Associated General Contractors of America Board of Directors, enters his new role with more than three decades of construction experience. In this capacity, he provides leadership and oversight to Sundt’s heavy civil, mining and industrial, and concrete operations.

“Tom not only brings industry-wide board-level experience, both locally and nationally, but also exudes a level of passion and energy for the industry that is rare,” said Hoover. “He will play a key role in continuing the growth of our Civil Group as it looks to expand its operations throughout the United States.”

Prior to joining Sundt, Case spent 27 years working with one of the largest diversified heavy civil contractors in the United States, where he most recently held the position of senior vice president of operations services. During his tenure, he also was named to the position of executive corporate officer, in which he provided oversight and support services for the company’s nationwide operations. A third generation contractor, Case worked his way up the industry ranks, holding a variety of titles, including project engineer, estimator, project manager and senior project manager, among many others.

Case holds a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo.
