Aerie Exceptional Rental Homes, offering a hybrid custom home living experience for discerning upscale renters, has changed its name to Avilla Homes.

The name change follows extensive brand and consumer research which determined the new name better reflects the firm’s focus to build neighborhoods that cater to individuals who seek a different residential experience: private luxury single-family living for those renting by choice.

The name, which means “gated village,” is ideal for those seeking a stress-free lifestyle and freedom from long-term financial commitments. Avilla Homes will be developed in new markets around the Sunbelt to serve growing demand.

NexMetro Communities and its affiliate Alta Vista Communities, developers of Avilla Homes is led by some of the most successful names in the real estate industry. Ken Abrahams, chairman of NexMetro Communities, is a successful investor and founder of multiple business enterprises. Abrahams is also a founding partner of Diamond Ventures, Inc., one of Arizona’s largest real estate development firms.

“The signature elements of Avilla Homes are private, gated luxury neighborhoods in desirable locations,” Abrahams said. “Our single story, detached homes are beautifully designed and constructed with a discerning renter in mind. It’s luxury living for today’s savvy consumer.”

Joining Abrahams at NexMetro Don Diamond, chairman of Diamond Ventures, a highly-successful and well-known entrepreneur, real estate expert and business leader. Diamond is among an elite list of NexMetro board members who bring more than 200 years of collective experience developing and operating more than $3 billion in real estate projects and assets.

“I knew the Avilla Homes concept was a winner the first time I heard about it,” said Diamond, a philanthropic and community leader in southern Arizona. “This concept is the wave of the future.”

All Avilla homes include 10-foot high ceilings, stainless steel appliances, upgraded finishes and unique architectural design. Avilla residences include private backyards, landscaped walkways and pool areas for outdoor recreation. Avilla neighborhoods are maintained by professional management firms to further simplify the living experience and afford residents the opportunity to enjoy their unique lifestyle choice.

“The residential real estate market has substantially changed over the past few years and research shows there is great demand for luxury single family rental homes,” said Roger Karber, a NexMetro shareholder. “This ‘renter by choice’ wants a private luxury home experience without the hassle and confinement of ownership.”

Typical Avilla residents include two income households with no children, empty-nesters and financially successful single professionals. Today, there are Avilla communities in southern Arizona and several underway in greater Phoenix, greater Dallas and other Sunbelt markets in 2014.
