Sagewood, a Life Care Services community featuring resort-like amenities and health care services for senior living, has completed construction on its second phase of casitas. A recovering housing market and strong community sales sparked the second phase of detached casitas, a duplex home option for seniors living at Sagewood.

The stylish two-bedroom, den and two-and-a-half bath casitas range from 2,173 to 2,326 square feet. In addition, residents can enjoy the desert landscaping on the large patio with a gas fireplace and water feature, a new addition to the casita design.

The casitas also feature a two-car oversized garage with ample storage capacity. In addition, the new casitas neighborhood provides majestic mountain and pristine Sonoran desert views.

“We are excited for residents to enjoy their new casita homes,” said Stewart Ingram, the community’s executive director. “Sagewood has seen an increase in demand for the modern detached homes, and our owners decided to start the second phase of construction,” he said.  “Only one casita remains available.”

Sagewood sold out of its first phase of 24 casitas two years ago and the community has now reserved 257 residences or 88 percent. Sagewood offers 19 spacious floor plans with entry fees starting at $323,300 for apartment homes, lofts, villas or detached casita residences.

“With the completion of the casitas, we are ramping now up to start construction on the expansion of the on-site Acacia Health Center,” Ingram said. “In addition to the resort-style amenities available to seniors at Sagewood, the Acacia Health Center offers a refreshing approach to healthcare.”

The general contractor was The Weitz Company and Smith Group JJR served as the architect for the new casitas, both of Phoenix.
