Zillow economist will speak at ‘Everything Infill’ event

It’s getting dense in Phoenix, which is how creativity and real estate collide to create amazing infill projects. Just like the trendiest restaurants and hippest office spaces can bring new life into an old lot, the market’s most desirable rooftops are also the result of infill.

Homeowners Financial Group, with Fidelity National Title Agency, announced the lineup for the 3rd annual Everything Infill. The event is for professionals who want to know the ins and outs of infill development – where it’s happening, how it’s changing and what homebuyers can expect of infill property.

The afternoon’s keynote speaker is Zillow Senior Economist Skylar Olsen, who will provide a national and local perspective of the infill market.

Olsen will be followed by a panel of regional market experts who will discuss what is driving today’s demand. Confirmed panelists include Lauren Bailey, co-founder of Upward Projects in Phoenix; Matt Riggs, acquisitions officer at Baron Properties in Denver; Paul Williamson, CFO of True Craft Residential in San Diego, Calif.; and David Solotov, senior vice president and head of West Coast originations at iStar in Los Angeles. “The market is up for all housing, but the infill trend is more exciting,” says Jim Belfiore, president of Belfiore Real Estate Consulting. “Infill is diverse and dramatically different than anything else around it.”

Belfiore will present on what infill trends are hot – and what’s not – for Metro Phoenix at the event.

All proceeds from this event go to The Care Fund, which provides mortgage or rent support to Arizona families during a child’s extended health crisis.

“We’re so thankful that the success of this event will benefit the Care Fund,” says Caroline Conner, director of corporate culture at Homeowners Financial Group. “Since 2013, Care Fund has granted 440 families rent and mortgage payments statewide.”

Everything Infill will be hosted April 25 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia (4949 E. Lincoln Dr. in Scottsdale). Light refreshments will be provided.
