“Eds and Meds” leading the way in Glendale
Glendale has a lot to crow about these besides being known as a Super Bowl-host city. According to city officials, the Glendale Economic Development Dept. has filled more than 1 million square feet of office and industrial space for two targeted industries – health care and education. And that has happened in just the past 12 months.

Valley Forward Hosts National Geographic Photographer Joel Sartore at Annual Luncheon
Why should humans curtail economic activity to preserve endangered forms of life? The question needs answering for each new generation despite the fact the Endangered Species Act has been in place for 36 years now.
World-renowned National Geographic photographer Joel Sartore notes in his newest book that nearly 2,000 plants and animals are listed as endangered species. This doesn’t even account for those that are already extinct.

It's always sunny in Arizona
With all the negative publicity Arizona has received lately, here’s some … well … sunny news.
According to Business Facilities Magazine, a national publication that serves as location advisor for site selection professionals, Arizona is ranked No. 1 among Alternative Energy Industry Leaders. Iowa is ranked No. 2.
Helping Arizona achieve that top spot is Tucson, which ranked No. 1 among the top 10 metro areas in the same category.

The Broader View
Where the Phoenix Office Market is poised to go midway through 2010 is not any clearer than it was three months ago. The market absorbed over a quarter million square feet of office space, and with that came a small drop in the vacancy rate, reversing a trend of the past two years. But despite this good news, rental rates are still down. Average 2Q rental rate Valley wide was $21.85, ranging from $16.10 for Class C to $24.86 for Class A.
