St. Louis native Greg Warren studied journalism and was an All-American wrestler before switching to comedy as a career. Warren has appeared on several comedy shows and specials, including “Comedy Central Presents,” “The Late Late Show” and “Last Comic Standing.” In addition to television, Warren has also released comedy albums, toured the country doing stand-up and appeared on several radio comedy shows.
Warren will be performing at House of Comedy, located at 5350 E. High St., Suite 105, in Phoenix on Wednesday, Dec. 3 through Sunday, Dec. 7. Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 3 and 4, shows begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, shows are scheduled for 7:30 and 9:45 p.m. Saturday’s shows are at 7 and 9:30 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 7, has one show at 7 p.m. Ticket prices vary by show and range from $13 to $20.

What was your best (or most embarrassing) moment on stage?
I flipped out and threw a guy’s cell phone against the wall. Not proud of that.
What’s one thing you want people to know about doing stand-up that nobody has ever asked you?
I think people already know enough about stand-up. I just want them to enjoy the show.
Who is your comedic inspiration?
Bob Newhart, Eddie Murphy, my brother Matt, the McGuires (my neighbors growing up)
What’s one thing you wished someone had told you about stand-up?
They probably told me all the stuff I wished they would have told me. I wished they would have listened.
What’s one item you never hit the road without?
I think I have forgotten every item at least once.
What is your favorite city to perform in and why?
Probably St. Louis. I’m from there.

If you had one day left to live, how would you spend it?
Not sure. There would be a lot of eating and crying.
What did you do the last time you were in Phoenix?
Told jokes. Visited with my old boss. It was great.
