The Scottsdale League for the Arts is hosting its premier dinner event, the Friends of James Beard Dinner, a month early next year. The longest-running James Beard Foundation fundraiser in the Southwest, the James Beard Dinner is scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 7, 2013 and will serve as a prelude to the 35th Annual Scottsdale Culinary Festival.
The Friends of James Beard Benefit Dinner will feature international 
culinary talent who will join forces for one night only to create both an exceptional, multi-course dinner — complete with carefully selected wine pairings — and an unforgettable night.
Taking place at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa’s Dreamweaver Canyon, the event will begin at sunset and will feature an ice sculpture, hors d’oeuvres, aperitifs and wine. The cocktail hour will then close with a Scottish bagpiper on the 18th green, and the main event — the dinner and live auction — will begin.
Tickets to the Friends of James Beard Dinner are priced at $200 per person and can be purchased online. The event will begin with a reception at 6 p.m.; the dinner begins at 7:30 p.m.
