Turner Construction Company closed out 2012 atop several of Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) recently released Top Contractors rankings.

The weekly trade magazine provides annual rankings based on revenue in several construction categories. ENR’s rankings confirm that Turner Construction Company is the No. 1 general builder and No. 1 green contractor in the nation.

In the recently-released lists, Turner is ranked as the top construction firm in six categories, and among the top five firms in eight additional categories. The firm is ranked No. 1 in the categories of general building, education, healthcare, correctional facilities, pharmaceuticals, and green contractors.

With a workforce of 1,345 accredited by a third party (the USGBC) as knowledgeable in the practices of green construction, Turner has more than twice the personnel of all other construction firms who are dedicated to building sustainably.

Turner is also ranked among the top five contractors in the categories of sports facilities, data centers, commercial offices, airports, telecommunications, semiconductors, industrial process, and hotels, motels and convention centers.

“We are very pleased to be at the top of ENR’s prestigious rankings,” said Shawn Rosenberger, Vice President and General Manager of Turner Construction Company, Arizona. “We are especially proud to be at the top of the Green Contractor rankings, as we believe that it is our responsibility to build sustainably, as exemplified by Colonel Smith Middle School (above photo) at Fort Huachuca, the first net zero energy school in Arizona.”
