The “Nightmare on Princess Drive” is returning to The Plaza Bar at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, 9 p.m. – 2 a.m., Saturday, October 31, 2015. This indoor/outdoor nightspot, in the plaza of the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, is the perfect place to enjoy fall weather and a ghostly, glamorous bash.

This year’s theme is “Spellbound on the Bayou,” where The Plaza Bar transforms into a foreboding cypress swamp draped in Spanish moss, with elegant emerald lighting and heads of skeletons perched about.  Party-goers can get a glimpse of their futures by visiting The Plaza Bar’s fortune teller and bone caster (8 p.m. to midnight). One who will be casting a spell is DJ Pulse, mixing the best lounge and dance music. A costume contest at the bewitching hour of midnight brings prizes for Best Spellbound on the Bayou themed-outfit; Most Creative, Scariest and Best Duo/Group.

Voodoo cocktail queens will serve mystical potions ($14) from the apothecary including:

  • The Light Fog – Made with equal parts ¾ oz. gin, lime juice, green chartreuse and maraschino cherry liqueur.
  • Spellbound Sangria – Made with 4 oz. red wine, 1 oz. orange juice, ¾ oz. of cognac, ¾ oz. lemon and ½ oz. simple syrup. Combine all ingredients in a mason jar and stir.  Garnish with an orange wedge, lemon wedge and cherry or a sprig or rosemary.
  • The Bone Caster – Made with ¾ oz. each of bourbon, amaro nonino, Aperol and lemon juice. Combine all ingredients in a mixing tin. Shake well and serve. Drop dry ice in to get a smoke effect.

Admission to the party is complimentary. Guys and ghouls can also R.I.P. in comfort with a reserved table with bottle service by calling 480-585-2694. Event parking is $5 for self-parking and $8 for valet. The Plaza Bar opens at 5 p.m. and is located at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess at 7575 East Princess Drive in Scottsdale.
