Christine Price, the lead on-site florist at Talking Stick Resort, and Ron Dimas, Orange Sky’s chef de cuisine, are fusing floral and culinary elements all in the name of a good cause.

On May 26, the two specialists will participate in Flavors of Phoenix—a gala that features a multi-course dinner tableside—and the proceeds will benefit the American Liver Foundation.

The affair will feature more than 30 chefs from across the Valley and will include a silent auction, live auction and dinner. Each chef will showcase a specific table theme. And even though a panel will select the top finishers, the event is done in the name of camaraderie as participants come together to support this worthy cause.

Price and Dimas have participated in the event for five consecutive years and earned the number one spot for “Judges’ Choice Best Table Décor” in 2014 and 2015. Kristina Powell, Orange Sky’s restaurant manager, will accompany both experts and oversee the front of house service during the 2016 competition.

“We’ve paired a contemporary design with delicious entrees and we’re proud of the final result,” Price said. “The gala gets bigger and better every year and we can’t wait to unveil this year’s theme at the event. The creation will appeal to our guests’ tastes but also their visual senses as well.”

Flavors of Phoenix will take place at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa beginning at 6 p.m.  The dress code is cocktail attire and guests will have the opportunity to bid on various items during the silent and live auctions. Contributions will be donated to the American Liver Foundation and help the organization raise awareness about liver health, prevention, education programs, research and advocacy.
