Triple-digit temperatures will soon become the norm for the Valley as we head into the warmer summer months. As everyone begins making plans to keep cool and have fun this summer without breaking the bank, Tempe Mission Palms, A Destination Hotel, is opening its swimming pool all summer long at no charge to the general public. The hotel’s picturesque rooftop pool will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.

On Saturday, May 28, guests are in for a treat as the hotel plans to pull out all of the stops poolside to not only celebrate the opening day of the free pool access, but also National Hamburger Day.

Pool-goers will have a chance to enjoy the hotel’s famous hamburger – which is so popular that it was even referenced in a Tom Clancy novel – on the pool terrace between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. that day. For only $5, they’ll enjoy a third-pound of beef topped with BBQ brisket and BBQ aioli, cabbage slaw, cheddar cheese, and tempura onion rings – all served on a garlic brioche bun, with potato chips and a drink. (The burger is regularly available at Harry’s Place Lounge for $12.)

Pool loungers will not only have stunning views of “A Mountain,” but they’ll also have full use of the poolside facilities, including the chance to enjoy the sound system pumping out cool beats, plush lounge furniture, pool games, cabanas and the shaded terrace area.

Pool attendants will be available for refreshing beverages and delectable dishes from the full Cabana Grill menu. All non-hotel guests must register with a pool attendant to obtain a day-pass wristband. Guests must be 18 years of age or older, unless accompanied by a parent. Free pool access will not be offered on July 4, and is subject to close for private events or if the pool reaches capacity.
