One of the biggest annual Downtown Phoenix parties, the McDowell Mountain Music Festival, has once again finished another successful weekend of rockin’ bands, delicious food and tasty drinks.

Huge crowds gathered for the three-day festival in Margaret T. Hance Park from Friday, March 3 to Sunday, March 5 to listen to a killer lineup, which featured Flume, The Shins, Chromeo, Grouplove and a whole lot more.

Our Art Director Mike Mertes was at the festival on Sunday, taking photos of Railroad Earth, Lettuce and Gov’t Mule. Be sure to click on the slideshow below to view the photos in fullscreen:

DJ Mustard, Chromeo and Flume played on the main stage on Saturday, pleasing many fans with their electronic tunes and vibes.

This was the fifth year McDowell Mountain Music Festival was held at Hance Park, providing ample shade, grass to lay-in and a minutes walk from much of Downtown Phoenix. Oskar Blues provided the brews during the festival and folks were able to get eats from Shake Shack, California Grill Truck, Paradise melts and a whole lot of other delicious vendors.

The McDowell Mountain Music Festival is all about the celebration of the community, and to help celebrate the community it is a 100 percent nonprofit music festival.

All proceeds from the weekend of events went to Phoenix Children’s Hospital and UMOM New Day Centers.

The festival started in 2004, and has become a destination event. Last year, Beck, Kid Cudi and the Avett Brothers played.

The date’s for the festival next year have already been announced, so set your calendars for March 23-25, 2018.
