“The show started off with his newest album ‘Hand.Cannot.Erase’ and after an intermission he played well known songs from his band Porcupine Tree,” Mertes said. Wilson was definitely Mertes’ favorite act of the year, he said.

Wilson has been influenced by legendary acts such as Pink Floyd, and he has been named the Prog Rock King by the Progressive Music Awards in the United Kingdom in 2015.

A musician for decades, now, Wilson has worked with artists such as Opeth, Jethro Tull and Fish. His latest solo album, “Hand. Cannot. Erase.,” was released last year to much acclaim, and currently holds an 89 out of 100 on Metacritic, a review aggregation site.
