Poker players can relax while playing Texas Hold ‘Em, Omaha Hi-Lo and 7-Card Stud at Talking Stick Resort. The Scottsdale, Arizona casino-resort has added seated chair massages to the menu of amenities available in The ARENA Poker Room, which also includes round-the-clock food and beverage offerings. Licensed massage therapists from The Spa at Talking Stick Resort provide the massage services.
The massages are concentrated on the neck, shoulders and back, and are given while a player is seated at one of the room’s 47 poker tables. “There are numerous benefits to getting a massage – especially if you’re going to be sitting in a static position for a long period of time,” said Teri Kramer, spa manager at The Spa at Talking Stick Resort. “Massages help to reduce muscular pain, tension and stress levels, and they also help promote better posture and circulation. For poker players, it can also help improve focus and concentration and extend playing time.”
Massage times range from a minimum of 10 minutes to a maximum of 30 minutes. “We’re excited to offer this new service to our players,” said Tom Young, director of The ARENA Poker Room. “Seated chair massages have been used by players at the World Series of Poker, and we’re glad we can provide this added level of service for our guests.” The pricing is as follows: 10 minutes – $15, 15 minutes – $25, 20 minutes – $30, 25 minutes – $40, 30 minutes – $45. Massages are given on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a sign-up sheet in the poker room.
