The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa announced the appointment of industry veterans Toby Scott-Long as director of operations, Bob Ducy as director of engineering and Tim Wright as director of security. With more than half a century of combined experience, Scott-Long, Ducy and Wright will continue to elevate the iconic resort’s legacy in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains.

Toby Scott-Long will be responsible for managing the resort’s daily operations while overseeing food and beverage, housekeeping, rooms, security and engineering departments. Prior to joining The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa, Scott-Long served as the director of rooms at The Westin Calgary in Canada where he oversaw housekeeping, front desk, engineering, and security teams. Throughout his professional experiences, Scott-Long has been recognized for balancing financial budgets, guest experience and associate satisfaction. He was the recipient of The Westin Harbour Castle Toronto’s Leader of the Year award as well as Leader of the Quarter at Le Royal Meridien King Edward Hotel Toronto.

Joining the team with more than 35 years of experience under his belt, Bob Ducy will manage daily engineering and landscaping department operations. Ducy previously served as the director of engineering at The Fairmont Orchid Hawaii, The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, Pointe Hilton Hotels & Resorts, and various Marriott Hotels & Resorts. Ducy is credited with managing more than $40 million in property capital investment projects while increasing J.D. Power guest ratings through innovative new maintenance practices.

As Director of Security, Tim Wright will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for both guests and staff members alike. Before joining The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa, Wright spent 25 years at the Port of San Diego’s Harbor Police Department where he worked as a police officer, firefighter, diver rescue specialist, and training manager. Wright graduated from the Center for Domestic Preparedness, a COBRA program, and completed Homeland Security training programs with the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard as well as intelligence training with the Department of Defense.
