The annual Brokers for Kids was held April 24 at Scottsdale Stadium.

There were 38 commercial real estate teams that competed in yearlong fundraising and the event’s Olympiad.

The Olympiad was set up in the outfield of the stadium. Teams participated in toss football, bocce ball, Jenga, and baggo.

In the end, the top four teams with the most points from the games moved on to a championship round of dodgeball.

Money for the event was raised in multiple ways. The bulk of fundraising came from the yearlong fundraising that the teams did.

At the event, teams could opt to fundraise even more. Some stations at the event, such as the quarterback challenge, gave participants the opportunity to pay $50 to have one of their team members go again to score more points.

Another way additional money was raised was through the raffle tickets. At $25 a ticket, participants took their chances for charity. The grand prize was a new 2015 Toyota donated by Valley Toyota.

This year, the event raised over $349,000 for local children’s charities. Cumulatively over the years, the event has raised more than $3 million for charity.

Money raised for the event goes to Boys Hope, Girls Hope. The charity helps kids ages 11 to 18 that are academically capable and motivated but come from financially challenged homes.

Aside from fundraising, participants were able to indulge in a variety of treats. Thirsty Lion and Pasta Brioni provided lunch and dinner for the teams. Gigi’s Cupcakes were also on hand to hand out mini cupcakes.

After an afternoon of camaraderie, teams were able to meet up in celebration of the days fundraising with food and drinks.
