Hoodie Allen @ The Marquee

Hoodie Allen started as a college graduate working as an Adwords associate at Google and writing songs on the side. He left the corporate world when he was offered the opportunity to do live shows as a full-time career. Allen began his musical career in the duo Steve Markowitz and Obey City and released “Bagels & Beats” EP and “Making Waves” mixtape. Hoodie received his first nomination for MTVU’s Best Music on Campus Award in 2009 under the music produced by the duo. His solo career took off in 2010, led by “You Are Not a Robot” hitting No.1 on Hype Machine and Allen finishing his mixtape “Pep Rally.” The music industry started to take notice of Allen’s originality and he set off on his first 22-stop tour across the U.S. in hype of his “All American” EP. Allen’s fifth mixtape “Crew Cuts” was downloaded 80,000 times in the first day it was released. To promote his music, he boarded the Cruising’ USA Tour and then traveled around to college campuses for shows.  “People Keep Talking” was recently released in October 2014 and the lead single “Show Me What You’re Made Of” debuted at No. 2 on the iTunes charts. Allen is currently on the “People Keep Talking” world tour with Chiddy Bang and will be making his stop in Arizona this Wednesday.
