July 24 is National Tequila Day, a celebration that we find pairs best with some delicious Mexican food. We’ve rounded up five restaurants with multiple locations Valleywide that will serve a fabulous entree on the side of your margaritathon.

Macayo’s
This Phoenix mainstay — established in 1946 by Woody and Victoria Johnson — has 14 locations throughout Arizona. Even after all this time, the Mexican kitchen is still family owned and run by the Johnsons’ three kids. Macayo’s grows its own chiles, which is something we’ll toast to! Watch Macayo’s video on “How to make the perfect 1800 marg.”

Milagro Grill
The dishes served at Milagro (“Miracle”) Grill are adaptations of Mexican-American meals they prepared in the kitchen of their childhood home on Camelback Mountain. The owners’ father, Steve Johnson, put more than 40 years of experience into operating Macayo’s restaurants and the rest of the family biz is handled by other relatives. It’s a family affair that has led to delicious food enjoyed in a cozy, modern location. On Thursdays, Milagro offers half off tequila during its happy hour (3:30 to 6:30 p.m. & 9 p.m. – close).

Z’Tejas
We’re just going to start by saying that you haven’t had cornbread like Z’Tejas cornbread. It’s the single, best way to kickstart your expedition into Z’Tejas’ award-winning margaritas. Signature margaritas are $5 Monday through Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. Even though Z’Tejas’ roots are in Austin, Texas, its second location was in Scottsdale, Ariz. We’ll take it!

Arriba Mexican Grill
The Arriba difference has everything to do with a little New Mexican town called Hatch, though better known as “The Chile Capital of the World.” Arriba uses fresh chiles from Hatch to give its dishes a little snappy, fiery or meltdown umpf. Come Monday through Friday, 3 to 7 p.m., or 9 p.m. to close and get a 12-ounce marg for 99-cents! Cheers!

Margaritaville Glendale
You may love tequila, but no one will love margaritas as much as Jimmy Buffet. This beachy escape-themed restaurant claims to be the “shortest route to the tropics in the Phoenix area,” and we agree. Meet a boatload of characters who will entertain you while you dine and down some tasty margaritas! Happy hour is 4 to 7 p.m.
