Bamily Owned Business AwardsArizona Business Magazine, in partnership with Thunderbird Center for Global Entrepreneurship, is encouraging nominations for the 2009 Family Owned Business Awards. We are looking for Arizona-based companies, or companies with a large Arizona presence that are owned or operated by family members. Family businesses face both similar and different sets of challenges than non-family businesses. We will be recognizing businesses that have effectively managed growth, have demonstrated success, and have planned for continuity between generations of family leaders. To qualify, a business should:

  • Be owned or operated by at least two family members – with ownership or strategic management of at least 50% of the business. For larger companies, this percentage may be lower – please inquire within for exceptions.
  • Have been in business at least 3 years as of January 1st, 2009
  • Be based in Arizona or have a large presence in Arizona
