“In keeping with our mission to ensure every child crosses the “finish line”, we’re proud of this program that’s growing and more significant each year,” said Alan ‘AP’ Powell, founder of Checkered Flag Run Foundation. “We are also grateful to all our sponsors and partners who see our vision, too.”

Tools 4 School also offers additional free activities including meet and greets with McGruff the Crime Dog and Phoenix Sky Harbor’s Amelia the Airplane, bounce houses, Phoenix Fire Department fire trucks, Phoenix Police Department police vehicles and more.

Last year, Tools 4 School provided backpacks to 2,000 students preparing for the upcoming school year. Tools 4 School is sponsored by the Checkered Flag Run Foundation whose mission is to invest in education to ensure every student gets to cross the “finish line.” CFRF believes that every child should get the learning experience they need to support 21st century skills.
