WestWorld will welcome five-time Grammy Award winning singer and songwriter Michael McDonald on Saturday, October 13 for the 12th Annual Beauty of a Bonzer benefit concert, raising money for local charities, including Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center, The Real Gift Foundation and Tom Crawford’s Leadership Children’s Foundation.

McDonald’s career began singing back-up vocals for Steely Dan. He went on to become a member of The Doobie Brothers, a band that has won three Grammys.

McDonald’s well-known songs include “Real Love,” “Takin’ It to the Streets,” “Little Darling,” “It Keeps You Runnin” and “Minute by Minute.” In 1980, he won his Grammy for Song of the Year, with co-writer Kenny Loggins, for “What a Fool Believes.” The track had further success when it went on to become a No. 1 single in the U.S.

The year 1982 marked the beginning of his solo career when he wrote and performed original songs for other well-known artists such as Carly Simon, Kenny Loggins and Van Halen.

“We’re thrilled for the return of this year’s Beauty of a Bonzer and are even more excited to be bringing the community and local artists together with a Battle of the Bands contest,” says Matt McMahon, founder of the event. “The opportunity for the winning band to open for the headliner at this year’s event is something special.”

Bonzer is an Australian word for “awesome party,” which is what planners are anticipating for this year’s event. So, it only makes sense that Outback Steakhouse has partnered with Miller Coors to bring beverages to the adult attendees and delicious dinner for everyone.

Tickets are on sale now. Prices range from $30 to $50. VIP tickets are also available ranging from $60 to $80. VIP tickets come with a private area to view the concert, two drinks and appetizers.
