Firehouse Subs is launching the first H20 for Heroes program on Saturday, Aug. 4, at seven Phoenix area restaurants as well as Tucson. To cut the heat and sub cravings, restaurants invite the community to donate one case of bottled water in exchange for one free medium sub. The bottled water collected will be donated to local fire departments and distributed throughout the community to children, elderly and those in need of water during the scorching summer months. An average of 119 people die annually due to extreme heat conditions in the U.S. With temperatures soaring up to 121 degrees in Phoenix during the summer and an average of 76 consecutive days with 100 degrees or more, water is considered a life-saving tool.
While this initiative represents the efforts of local franchisees, the Firehouse Subs brand is familiar with giving back. In the past four years, more than $80,000 has been donated to public safety entities across the state of Arizona through Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.

Firehouse Subs favorites include the Hook & Ladder® piled high with Smoked Turkey and Virginia Honey Ham smothered with Monterey Jack cheese and the New York Steamer, inspired by New York delicatessens, combining corned beef brisket and pastrami topped with Provolone. All large Specialty Subs boast a half-pound of meat.
