JBA Consulting Engineers (JBA), a global leader in active building systems, began operations in Arizona recently. It named Michael Shafer, CTS and Timothy Johnson RCDD, CTS as Managers of Technology Design Solutions and Senior Project Consultant respectively.

Shafer and Johnson’s more than 50 years of combined experience and vast knowledge of the market will allow JBA to provide consulting engineering services throughout Arizona and expand our expertise offerings to clients around the globe.

His more than 28 years of experience as an audiovisual expert and CTS have taken him around the globe while serving in leadership positions at SMW, Sparling, Avidex and most recently as a principal at the Sextant Group.

His vast knowledge of distant learning and class room technology for the healthcare and university sectors has positioned Michael as the thought leader for these hi-tech projects and in demand speaker within the AV convention circuit.

Johnson’s more than 32 years of experience as a telecommunication designer, CTS, RCDD and member of BICSI make him a perfect addition as a Worldwide Trusted Advisor. His s vast knowledge of data center, low voltage design and advanced infrastructure has positioned him as a prominent IT technologist in the region and Trusted Advisor for clients such as UA, ASU, College of the Desert and Oregon.

Martha Banning, CPSM, recently joined JBA’s Arizona office as to Manager of Corporate Business Development to lead the growth and development of JBA’s technology design solutions group (TDSG) for all domestic offices. She is a Certified Professional Services Marketer and brings more than 15 year experience in marketing professional services and client and project pursuit direction.
